   The global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War II is a pandemic that is taking place up until now, the coronavirus disease also known as COVID-19 pandemic. Its emergence started in 2019 that spreads to every continent except Antarctica. Every one of us must work together to slow the spread of this virus. But what is a huge step forward to take globally to end the pandemic and get back to doing normal activities before this pandemic occurred? The whole world is being attentive and paying attention to the vaccine which is the key in ending this chaotic pandemic caused by coronavirus disease. The essence of immunization is saving millions of lives each year. The World Health Organization (WHO) is working with partners all over the world to accelerate research in developing a safe and effective vaccine that ensures an equitable access for every single person on Earth. But even with an expedited process, the development of a vaccine for COVID-19 will still take time. Vaccines are considered safe and effective if the World Health Organization (WHO) already approved these vaccines. Several vaccine candidates against COVID-19 are being developed and undergone clinical trials to ensure its effectiveness and safeness. All the currently authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines are considered safe, effective, and has the ability to reduce your risk of severe illness so an individual does not need to wait for a specific brand.

   How vaccination works in preventing an individual from getting infected by the coronavirus disease is simple. When the World Health Organization already approved this vaccine, it is considered safe, and effective way of protecting people against harmful diseases. Vaccines reduce risks of getting diseases by working with our body’s natural defences to build protection. When we get a vaccinated, our immune responds.

   There are several vaccine candidates that are being developed and undergone clinical trials to ensure its effectiveness and safeness. But as of the moment, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) already approved three vaccines specifically; Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. 

   But one doesn't need to wait for a specific brand because the best COVID-19 vaccine is the first one that is already available. Because all that are currently authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines are considered safe, effective, and has the ability to reduce your risk of severe illness.

   If I would be given a chance to be vaccinated against COVID-19, I would definitely take it. Simply because it has been proven, shown to be safe and effective, and all COVID-19 vaccines are being carefully evaluated in clinical trials. But still after getting vaccinated against COVID-19, I'll keep on taking precautions in public places like wearing my facemask, staying 6 feet apart away from others, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, and washing my hands often.

Quality Education, Amidst a Pandemic?

         The Department of Education (DepEd) managed to implement the "Blended Learning Method" as a new method of learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, millions of students are still able to enroll in the country this school year. But a lot of students are also unable to enroll because they do not have enough money or not ready to keep up with the new mode of study. The government chose to pursue the opening of classes without adequate equipment, preparation, and support.  Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt the learning crisis in our country.         There are things we do not expect and can prevent from happening. Such as various disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, tsunamis, wars, let us also include a pandemic and other catastrophic events that can take many lives. All we can do is prepare for it because nowadays the catastrophes are not expected by anyone.
