Practice Makes Perfect
What is an earthquake? An earthquake is a sudden, rapid shaking of the ground caused by the shifting of rocks deep underneath the earth’s surface. Earthquakes can cause fires, tsunamis, landslides or avalanches. While they can happen anywhere without warning.

While a destructive earthquake is happening, lifeprotecting actions must be taken immediately. There's no enough time to decide what should you do next, everyone must already know how to react appropriately. Even after an earthquake, further lifeprotecting actions such as emergency evacuation or first aid administration may be necessary; welltrained staff and students will guarantee that these crucial steps are taken as quickly as possible.
Earthquake drills and exercises play an extremely important role in our preparedness plan because they; 1) teach students, staff and parents how to respond to the complications of an actual earthquake, and 2) help individual to evaluate how well are the parts of an emergency plan, and how well the staffs and students have been trained.
“Our safety does not rest in the hands of one person or government agency alone. It rests in our very hands as we put them together on the concerted effort of building safer, adaptive and resilient communities.” said Sec Voltaire Gazmin.
As the saying goes “Practice makes perfect” that applies to anything that we want to improve or to get better at; the same is true for emergency preparedness. Even though emergencies/cathastrophic events are unpredictable and unexpected, our cooperation is needed to prepare as generally as possible. And when the real emergency happens, we can rely on our knowledge and training, and we have the capability to adjust according to the situation in front of us. And the best way to practice and prepare for emergencies, is by running regular practice drills.
