Quality Education, Amidst a Pandemic?
The Department of Education (DepEd) managed to implement the "Blended Learning Method" as a new method of learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, millions of students are still able to enroll in the country this school year. But a lot of students are also unable to enroll because they do not have enough money or not ready to keep up with the new mode of study. The government chose to pursue the opening of classes without adequate equipment, preparation, and support.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt the learning crisis in our country. The expensive but slow internet connection that the Philippines has is still a major problem for students in the country. Is it even possible for education to have a meaningful continuation in the country, amid problems that the government has not yet solved? The pandemic stopped the normal activity of every individual in different parts of the world.
Even before this moment, a lot of students need to overcome the terrifying barriers in accessing and navigating quality education. A lot of problems is affecting my academic. The stress and fear we students feel caused by COVID-19 is exacerbated by the opening of classes. But in this regard we continue to face physical, mental, and financial problems in the midst of a pandemic. Everyone is struggling and constantly adjusting to the new education system.
The government should also give consideration that not all of our students are happy with the continuation of class amid the pandemic. Sometimes the government fails to pay attention in hearing the voice of their countrymen - the little ones who quietly observe their actions. We are left hanging in doubt and fear of the rampant disease and how to prioritize our right to education.

It's very hard for us students to adjust quickly on this new learning system. This learning system is far different on what we are used to. By the way I support your stand because it's true that other students aren't happy with what is happening right now. Our voices also needs to be heard. But we should still do our best in doing our studies even if it's difficult. God bless and keep safe.
