Survived

Image
Image retrieved at  https://www.shutterstock.com/search/3rd+quarter    Another quarter has passed and I barely survived with this new mode of learning amid pandemic. Though I enjoyed our topic for this quarter which is 'Community-based research' because it's somewhat related or inclined with my interests. I see myself as an excited and avid learner motivated by understanding the unknown. I loved exploring the world using my imagination, literature and by getting my hands dirty. I loved questioning how things worked by interrogating and disturbing seemingly complex systems. It is said that all children are born with curious minds. I believe curiosity is an innate aspect of childhood that drives the learning process.    This quarter of learning in ICT made be realized that it is the interaction between a subject and its environment which is fundamental to the process of learning. However, in addition to this, I believed that learning deeply involves asking questio...

The global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War II is a pandemic that is taking place up until now, the coronavirus disease also known as COVID-19 pandemic. Its emergence started in 2019 that spreads to every continent except Antarctica. Every one of us must work together to slow the spread of this virus. But what is a huge step forward to take globally to end the pandemic and get back to doing normal activities before this pandemic occurred? The World Health Organization (WHO) is working with partners all over the world to accelerate research in developing a safe and effective vaccine that ensures an equitable access for every single person on Earth. But even with an expedited process, the development of a vaccine...

The Day of Valor

Image Retrieved at  https://slsu.edu.ph/events/araw-ng-kagitingan/    Araw ng Kagitingan also known as Bataan Day and Bataan and Corregidor Day, is an annual celebration and national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II. It is marked on or around April 9 in Philippines each year. In 2009, its celebration was moved to April 6 to avoid it from coinciding with Maundy Thursday.    On April 9, 1942, officials in command of Bataan where Filipino and American forces maintained the main resistance in the war against the Japanese, formally surrendered. Through the Voice of Freedom radio broadcast, Third Lieutenant Normando Ildefonso Reyes—reading a message prepared by Captain Salvador P. Lopez—informed the Philippines and the world from Malinta Tunnel in Corregidor: “Bataan has fallen.”    “Bataan has fallen. The Philippine-American troops on this war-ravaged and bloodstained peninsula have laid d...

Lenten Season

Image
This year, Lent takes place from Wednesday, February 17, to Thursday, April 1, 2021, while Easter takes place on Sunday, April 4. Lent refers to Christian season of spiritual preparation before Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday in western churches. A lot of Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial, and spiritual discipline during lent. The main purpose of the Lenten season is to have time for reflection on Jesus Chris, to consider his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection.    Christians who observe Lent typically make a commitment to fast, or to give up something. May it be a habit, like smoking, watching TV, swearing, or a food or drink, such as sweets, chocolate, or coffee during the six weeks of self-examination and reflection. Some with the same religion also take on a Lenten discipline, like reading the Bible and spending more time in prayer to draw nearer to God. St...
